Consciousness-Based Education for Girls
The Ideal Girls School was founded by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in 1996 to offer Consciousness-BasedSM education for girls, to systematically unfold their inner intelligence, אושר, and organizing power as they rise to live at the heights of their full potential. The School integrates a college preparatory curriculum with technologies of consciousness, including the Maharishi Transcendental Meditation program and the study of consciousness from Maharishi Vedic ScienceSM and the Science of Creative Intelligence®.
Ideal Girls School has received special accreditation as a college preparatory school from the Iowa Department of Education. This status was granted because more than 80 percent of its graduates have been accepted by accredited universities and colleges.
The School is located in Maharishi Vedic City, on a new campus of 120 acres, with a beautiful classroom building. The land will be used for expansion of the School and a ladies’ residential area. All the buildings on campus will be constructed according to the principles of Maharishi VedicMSM Architecture.
The School is open to all girls entering grades 7 through 12, who regularly practice the Transcendental Meditation program. The School admits both day and boarding students; boarding students must be at least 14 years old.

The Curriculum and Its Goal
The curriculum at Ideal Girls School includes the courses of Science, Language Arts and Drama, Mathematics, Art and Art Appreciation, Social Studies, Sports and Dance, Music, Computer Applications, Refined Living and Home Management, Maharishi Vedic Science, Sanskrit, Review of the Day, and Review of the Week. Classes are held six days a week, with additional field trips. The foundation of the curriculum is the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi® programs, which the students collectively practice.
A special emphasis of Ideal Girls School is the students’ creative expression of the different subjects of study in light of Maharishi Vedic Science, the systematic study of the deepest value of human intelligence, the field of their own self-referral pure consciousness. The teachers guide the students in original work in art, science, Maharishi Vedic Science, drama, music, dance, and in their illustrated summaries at the end of the each class, at the end of the day, and at the end of each week.
On Saturday afternoon students review the main ideas they have learned in each subject for the entire week. After Review of the Week, the girls write an original skit and songs that express the Maharishi Vedic Science principle of the week and integrate the most important ideas of each of their classes during that week. They perform these wonderful creations for their parents and teachers each Saturday night to reinforce the week’s learning. The girls take occasional field trips with inspiring ladies of the community who have special talents in the arts, in crafts, sports, cooking, science, or technology. Once a year the students take an extended school trip.

Maharishi Vedic Science and the Transcendental Meditation Program for Full Brain Development
The foundation of the curriculum is Maharishi Vedic Science, the study of the full potential of human consciousness, with its practical technologies of the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi programs for unfolding the students’ full creative potential and creating coherent collective consciousness. Maharishi Vedic Science brings to light that only the experience of Transcendental Consciousness enlivens the total brain, so that the vast latent intelligence of the students can be actualized in daily living. The students practice the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi programs in groups as part of the curriculum.
