Consciousness-Based Education for Ladies and Girls
Maharishi Spiritual University, founded in 1998 by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, is one of two all-ladies Consciousness-Based universities in the world. Its goal is to develop the students’ full inner intelligence—total brain potential—through study and the full awakening of the Self, Atma, as brought to light in the programs of Maharishi Vedic ScienceSM. The result is an increasingly mistake-free, problem-free, joyful and fulfilled life rising to higher states of consciousness.
When ladies are able to develop their most refined, nourishing, and peaceful qualities, they exert a powerful influence for good in the family, community, and nation, promoting all that is in harmony with Natural Law.

The emerging responsibility of Maharishi Spiritual University is to develop the Consciousness-Based educational programs for enlightenment for ladies and girls worldwide. This will range from elementary and secondary education through full-time and part-time degree programs and short courses, taught at the central campus near Maharishi Vedic City, Iowa, and in the Maharishi Peace Palaces in the 3000 largest cities of the world.
A primary goal of the University is to create on its central campus a permanent coherence-creating group of ladies and girls practicing the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi® programs, so that the national consciousness will support only life-nourishing values and activities.

Through its distance education program and the use of computer technology and teleconferencing, Maharishi Spiritual University currently offers International Days and Weekends of Total Knowledge for Enlightenment for ladies in 25 countries on all continents. The response to these courses has been wonderful. Ladies take delight and are transformed by these occasions for coming together in a soft and lively atmosphere, and focusing on their own development of higher states of consciousness through Maharishi Vedic Science.
Short and Longer Courses for Enlightenment
The University also offers short and longer residential courses and part-time courses. Courses on reading the Vedic Literature in Sanskrit have been taught several times. Credit received in this and the other courses will be applied toward degrees in Maharishi Vedic Science once the University gains permission to offer degrees. Course credit is currently applied toward certificates in Maharishi Vedic Science.
The plans for the full-time degree programs in Maharishi Vedic Science include specialized training in Consciousness-Based knowledge of education (health care and food/nutrition), administration/management, architecture/art, and peace.
